The senior common room was refurbished and alterations and adaptations carried out to create a new hot food serving area and separate dining facilities. On-site works lasted only two weeks and were carried out in phases, allowing the bar and restaurant to remain operational throughout the summer recess while the rooms were being used by Open University students.
